HUD is a key resource for Jacksonville Neighborhood Improvement Services programs. Funding secured by the City from HUD allows Jacksonville Neighborhood Improvement Services to provide financial assistance and incentives to buyers and current owners.

As a result of HUD funding sources, the City is able to offer deferred forgivable loans for lots and financial assistance to buyers through the Downtown Housing Initiative, and also offer current owners in the City demolition and rehabilitation services.
