Fire Services Training and Employment

Jacksonville Fire & Emergency Services is ready to respond to emergency calls 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, with the goal of minimizing the loss of life and property for the Citizens of the City of Jacksonville through the efficient response of personnel and equipment and conducting programs that promote fire and life safety.

The Operations Division provides services in fire suppression, medical emergencies, technical rescue, as well as various types of calls for service.

Training

Jacksonville Fire & Emergency Services has specialty teams in HazMat, Technical Rescue, Tactical Medic, Fire Investigation Unit, and Honor Guard. The majority of the fire prevention programs are conducted by Operations personnel for schools and many civic organizations. The Operations Division is responsible for the maintenance of facilities and equipment to maintain an effective and efficient response for Citizens.

Jacksonville Fire & Emergency Services Administrative and Training Division implements training and safety of all department personnel, recruitment of paid personnel, and manages the department's specialty response teams.
