Work With Future Leaders
A goal of the office is to instill the goal for students to make leaving Jacksonville after education an option, not a requirement. This goal involves building affinity for the community and advancing knowledge among peers about Jacksonville and Onslow County.
Meetings
Jacksonville Youth Council meetings are held on the 1st Wednesday of every Month during the academic year in either City Council Chambers or at the Jacksonville Youth Center both on New Bridge Street in Jacksonville. Council members talk about activities, plan for the future, and engage other students to participate in council activities. Join Jacksonville Youth Council.
Civic Engagement
Jacksonville Youth Council are invited to take part in ceremonies and observances like the Freedom Day observance, Patriot Day, Holiday Parade, and the Beirut Memorial Observance.
Leisure
Jacksonville Youth Council hosts leisure activities throughout the school year for members including Canoe Day on Wilson Bay, Spring Break trips and events, as well as bowling, movies and other activities.
National Day of Service
Each year members pick a way to help clean up in the area, from picking up garbage, to washing windows, and planting vegetation, helping to keep the City of Jacksonville clean and green.
