Arbor Day Observance

The City's Arbor Day Observance celebrates the meaning of Arbor Day and trees are typically planted at a City Park, school or other public location. Images of previous events are on the City's Facebook page.

The City hosts Arbor Day events as a way to encourage Citizens to give back to their community by supporting the Adopt-A-Program where volunteers can adopt a street, stream, park or trail to help keep clean.

Jacksonville Jamboree

Free Admission and Parking are a plus for this popular spring festival! Jacksonville Jamboree is held the first Saturday in May annually at the Jacksonville Commons, 100 Recreation Lane. Save the date and come for musical entertainment, the exciting 'Jacksonville's Got Talent' competition, as well as food and marketplace vendors.

Demonstrations from local organizations as well as a carnival rides, children's activity and play area make the Jacksonville Jamboree a well rounded event for the family.

National Night Out

National Night Out, NNO, is held annually the first Tuesday in August at Riverwalk Crossing Park in downtown Jacksonville. NNO is America's night out against crime. The introduction of National Night Out began in 1984 began an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

Onslow Oktoberfest at Riverwalk Crossing Park

Set at Riverwalk Park in downtown Jacksonville, Oktoberfest starts with an early morning 5K and offers activities in the Oktoberfest style throughout the day. Come prepared to run and walk and spend the day enjoying lots of mouth watering bratwurst & beer, incredible family fun, entertainment and variety of arts and crafts. Event Information.

Jacksonville Winterfest

Winterfest is held the first weekend in December at Riverwalk Park, 421 Court Street in downtown Jacksonville. Winterfest is a celebration of the season. This festive event has children’s games, ice sculptures, holiday entertainment, food, pony, hay and train rides. Children can have their picture taken with Santa and visit Santa's Workshop. Highlights include sledding with real snow, the annual tree lighting, and spectacular Flotilla on the New River.
