Recreation & Parks Facilities
The Jacksonville Recreation and Parks Department currently operates five (5) recreation centers, an outdoor amphitheater, a marina and seventeen (17) parks within the city limits of Jacksonville. The department also operates two (2) splash pads during the summer season. Each of these facilities offer residents and visitors of Jacksonville the opportunity for recreational use, thus encouraging a place for friends, families and neighbors to gather for a common purpose. These gatherings encourage activities that are enriching to the lives of those who participate. Our goal is to provide exceptional leisure opportunities that enhance the sense of community within the City of Jacksonville.
- Reservations of facilities are accepted up to one year in advance, based on availability.
- Reservations are processed on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Jacksonville Recreation and Parks core programs, events or scheduled administrative use have priority over use by individuals or organizations.
- A notice of 21 days is required for the reservation of a recreation center; park shelter reservations can be made at any time.
Rental fees are charged based upon the appropriate fee for that facility, as designated by the current City of Jacksonville Fee Schedule.
Recreation Centers
Reservations for indoor recreation centers will not be take until after August 1, 2021.
There are five recreation centers within the City of Jacksonville available for use by residents and visitors. A number of these recreation centers are available for reservation by individuals, organizations or groups for events, meetings and family gatherings.
How to Reserve a Recreation Center

Park Shelters
There are seventeen parks within the City of Jacksonville for use by residents and visitors. A number of these parks have shelters available for use by those patronizing the park. If you would like to reserve a particular park shelter for use, please select the appropriate park and submit your request online. A member of the Administration staff will contact you to confirm your request.
No refunds will be issued for park shelter reservations. In order to reschedule an available park shelter due to inclement weather, one must call the Administration Office at 910 938-5312 within three business days of the original reservation.

The following parks have shelters that are available for use at any time; however, we do not reserve them for private, group or commercial use.

Park Rules
Persons using any of the parks and park shelters in the City of Jacksonville will be expected to follow the rules as set forth by the Jacksonville Recreation and Parks Department and Jacksonville City Council. These rules include but are not limited to the following:
- All organizations, groups, and individuals will be responsible for any damages that occur while they are using the park shelter. All organizations, groups, and individuals will be responsible for cleanup of the premises immediately following their use each day. Failure to abide by these rules will affect future use of recreation facilities.
- The use of city property to sell merchandise or to charge admission for an event is prohibited without the prior approval of the Recreation and Parks.
- Bounce houses, water slides or inflatables are not permitted at any time in city parks.
- Keep the parks clean! Please use trash receptacles.
- Please extinguish all grill fires and coals.
- Pets must be on a leash not to exceed six feet, unless posted otherwise.
- Motorized vehicles are restricted to roadways and parking lots.
- Washing and repairs to motorized vehicles is prohibited.
- The public use and/or display of alcoholic beverages are prohibited.
- The possession and/or use of drugs are prohibited.
- The possession and/or use of firearms, weapons, and fireworks are prohibited.
- Amplified music and sounds are prohibited without a permit from the Jacksonville Police Department. Refer to the Sound Ordinance.
- Organizations, groups, or individuals wishing to use these park shelters should contact the Recreation and Parks Department and request a park reservation. Reservations can be made no more than 12 months out from the current calendar date unless prior approval is received from the Recreation and Parks department.
Athletic Fields
There are twelve athletic fields operated by the Jacksonville Recreation and Parks Department. These fields are located within the City limits of Jacksonville and vary in size. All reservations for the use of these fields are subject to priority use, field capacity and field maintenance schedules. Jacksonville Recreation and Parks core programs have priority use of the fields. To determine a field's availability, please call the Athletic Services Division at 910 938-5268.
Extended rental requests must be submitted at least 30 days in advance. Consideration will be given to all rental requests submitted, but will be evaluated based on a first come, first served basis.
