Tai Chi for Seniors

Balance, tranquility, Strength.  Tai Chi is often referred to as meditation in movement.  Yang style is a slow movement form designed to improve balance and overall fitness.

Essential Workout

Low impact, upbeat and fun total body workout.  Focus is on core strength and balance, as well as upper and lower body strength.

  • Monday, Wednesday, & Friday at 7:30AM

Strength & Disco

This medium impact workout includes a mix of disco, aerobics, strength and flexibility training.

Function Fitness for Seniors

This low impact class focuses on exercises that will help improve your everyday life and prevent injuries.  This class includes a mix of balance training, coordination training, and functional movements.  Modifications are available.

Strength Training

Progress at your own pace while working out with light to medium weights, resistance bands, and medicine balls.  All fitness levels welcome.

Small Group Fitness

These classes will resume at a future date.

Reach your fitness goals, improve your health and get into the best shape of your life with our personal trainer.   Be a part of a small team, all working to accomplish the same goal.  Program includes assessments and body composition tracking, a clean eating program and at home workout guidelines.

  • Sessions are held: Mon/Wed at 10:30AM, Mon/Wed at 4PM, and Tue/Fri at 5:30PM

  • Each session is 8 weeks, cost per session $150

Yoga

Gentle yoga is designed for adults of all ages and fitness levels, from beginner to intermediate levels.  Kirapula yoga is an interplay of body, mind, and energy.  A typical class will consist of teaching breathing techniques, proper postures, and finish with a deep relaxation period.  There are no fitness levels required for the class, the only needed is yourself and a yoga mat.

  •   Drop in Fee $12, Monthly fee $40

Zumba  

Zumba takes the "work" out of workout, by mixing low-intensity and high-intensity moves for an interval-style, calorie-burning dance fitness party. Once the Latin and World rhythms take over, you'll see why Zumba® Fitness classes are often called exercise in disguise. Super effective? Check. Super fun? Check and check.

  • Starting July 12, classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6PM
  • Jacksonville Commons Recreation Center, 100 Recreation Lane
  • Drop in fee $5
  • Zumba Punch Pass $35 - includes 8 classes and you have 90 days to use them
