Even with parades cancelled, Winterfest postponed, and ongoing COVID-19 concerns and restrictions, there are still many things to be thankful for and many ways to enjoy the season in Jacksonville. Join the community in celebrating this special time of year with activities hosted by the City of Jacksonville and its partners.
Mayor Sammy Phillips and the City Council will light the City’s tree. There will also be seasonal trivia and a reading from Mrs. Claus. This event is virtual only with no public attendance. The ceremony, trivia and reading can be viewed online at Facebook.com/JacksonvilleNC.gov
Parking is available at Kerr St Park, 36 Kerr Street. The flotilla is hosted by the Jacksonville Breakfast Rotary Club.
This is an interactive drive-through event with hot cocoa, cookies, trivia, take-home crafts, socially distanced photos with Santa, and Christmas Cheer donation drop off! More details are available at JacksonvilleNC.gov/Recreation
Families are invited to join the friendly competition! Decorate a gingerbread house, snap a photo, and submit it online for the chance to win a prize from American Dream Cakes Bakery. The winner will be announced December 18, 2020. More information is available at JacksonvilleNC.gov/Recreation
Due to ongoing COVID-19 safety concerns, State executive orders and Federal guidelines, the Winterfest family festival at Riverwalk Park has been postponed until February 20, 2021.
