[ARCHIVED] City of Jacksonville Thanksgiving Schedule

City Hall Closed December 10 for Freedom Day

Happy Thanksgiving from the City of Jacksonville! The following schedule changes are in effect for the 2022 Thanksgiving Holiday: 

Jacksonville City Hall and most facilities will be closed November 24-25, 2022 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. We will reopen Monday, November 28, 2022. Jacksonville Public Safety and Fire & Emergency Services will remain open. You can still do business online at JacksonvilleNC.gov where you can pay your utility bill, register for Recreation classes, and more. 

Jacksonville Transit will run on Scarlet Express Route for Thanksgiving weekend. Hours of operation for regular routes on November 24, 2022,Thanksgiving Day are 9:55 AM-8:10 PM. To celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday and show appreciation for our customers, Jacksonville Transit will be doing free fare for the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend only.  It will take place on Thursday, November 24 through Sunday, November 27.  

Sanitation will operate on a holiday schedule with Thursday and Friday garbage & recycling collection both moving to Wednesday, November 23, 2022. No garbage & recycling collection will take place Thursday and Friday due to the closure of the Onslow County landfill for Thanksgiving. No yard waste will be collected this week. Normal sanitation schedule will resume Monday, November 28, 2022. You can access the full sanitation schedule on our City sanitation calendar.
