Jacksonville Police Department, in conjunction with the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) is implementing a new crime prevention program for citizens that may be out in the community getting a little exercise with “man’s best friend.”
There are dozens of dog walkers throughout the City at all times of the day, all days of the week in all weather conditions. Many are occupied with texting, chatting, email and listening to music during their neighborhood walks. Dog Walker Watch provides some tips to effectively observe and report suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Community Officer Andrew Kruczko, Coordinator of JPD’s Dog Walker Watch Program spoke with over 100 citizens last Saturday at Pet Smart on Western Boulevard. “We will be out at Pet Smart on Yopp Road this Saturday, July 23 from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM to talk to folks about Dog Walker Watch. We are planning to hold a Dog Walker Watch training session very soon.”
