Snow, Santa and Singing will be a few of the items featured at the City of Jacksonville Winterfest, Saturday, December 7, 2013. Winterfest runs 2-8 PM at Riverwalk Crossing Park in downtown Jacksonville.
Sledding with real snow, ice sculptures, carolers, pictures with Santa, the Santa Elves workshop, reindeer games and crafts targeting little ones, are but a few of the highlights of the festive event.
At 5:45, Mayor Sammy Phillips will light the City Christmas Tree and the Jacksonville Breakfast Rotary will host their annual flotilla on the New River following the tree lighting.
Volunteers will also be there to accept gifts for Christmas Cheer which provides food and gifts for local families in need. Bring your unwrapped donation of gifts for children ages infant to 17 to the Christmas Cheer Station when you arrive. This is a family friendly event, so bring the whole family.
Parking, shuttle and admission is free courtesy of Jacksonville Recreation & Parks. An event map and details are available online at www.jacksonvillenc.gov/winterfest and will be on facebook and other sites.
