The National African American Read-In is the nation’s first and oldest event dedicated to diversity in literature. It was established in 1990 by the Black Caucus of the National Council of Teachers of English to make literacy a significant part of Black History Month.
The City of Jacksonville has scheduled speakers and youth performers for this event. Free and open to the public.

Registration for Baseball ages 5-18, Softball ages 7-18 and Volleyball ages 9-16 will be held Feb 4-22.

Join us for the 15th Annual African American Read-In being held at Jacksonville City Hall. Students from the City will present poems, readings and musical items created by African American writers and artists. Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
